Earth's Cycles Vocabulary

Carbon Cycle

Carbon cycle is recycle of the oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) in our planet.
Cycle is a series of events that repeat again and again in same order.
Carbon is gasses or chemical element that can be released into the atmosphere.
Consumers are can be called animal or living organisms.
Respiration is when consumers breath, they take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide.
Photosynthesis is after the carbon is on the air, the producers will take in  In carbon dioxide, water and sunlight in order to make oxygen and glucose.
Sunlight is Energy and a bright light that is delivered from sun.
Glucose is a sugar or can be energy for producers.
Producer is a organism that makes its own food.
Decomposer is an organism, a bacterium  or a fungus that decomposes organic material.
Decomposition is a process of rotting or decay.
Fossils are the remainings of dead animal that was buried in the ground for millions of years.
Consumption, is when people dig the ground and get fossils or fossil fuels to use or burn them on their factories and make energy from them.
CO2 Emissions are the carbon dioxide the unclean air that came out after burning oil or fossil fuels and the chemical that goes into our atmosphere.

Rock Cycle

Rock cycle is the creation of different types of rock in our planet that repeats for millions of years.
Igneous rock is a rock that is formed after lava cools down.
Lava is a melted rock that comes out from underground.
Cementation is a binding of a particles.
Weathering is a natural action that moves an object or causes damage that will change the texture or the shape.
Heat is a high degree of a temperature.
Pressure is amount of force.
Metamorphic Rock is a kind of rock that is changed by heat and pressure.
Sediments are small pieces of rocks.
Compaction is when a rock that is pressed by weight of the layers above them.
Sedimentary Rock is a kind of rock that is formed by minerals.
Erosion is a process that minerals that is transported by gravity, water, wind and glaciers.
Magma is a melted rock located in under the Earth's surface.
Crystallization is a liquid that becomes a solid because of amount of temperature.
Melting is a process that solid turns into liquid.

Water Cycle

Water Cycle is a process of which water circulates on our ecosystem.
Infiltration is a process which happens after runoff. Water goes underground and becomes soaked by the roots of plants and trees.
Runoff is when water goes underground from top of mountains.
Sunlight is Energy and light that comes from sun.
Evaporation is a process when the body of water gets heated and water gets evaporated.
Groundwater is a water that is located under the ground.
Transpiration is a process when sunlight hits the trees and there will be evaporation where liquid escapes from trees or plants.
Water vapor is evaporated invisible water.
Condensation will happen when the water vapor becomes together and makes clouds.
Clouds are visible games in the air.
Precipitation is a rainfall.
Plant Uptake is when roots of the plants soak the underground water.

Earth Cycles Project Final Assessment - Blog Post

PART I

TOPIC:
Rock Cycle
  1. The Metamorphic Rock and Sedimentary Rock will play big role in rock cycle. For example, Metamorphic Rock will transform to Sedimentary Rock when metamorphic rock will turn into Magma in the process of melting and after it becomes magma, it will come out as a lava then it cools down to become Igneous rock. After that there is process called weathering and erosion which break the igneous rock into sediments. Then in process of cementation and compaction, the sediments will stick together and become sedimentary rock.
  2. The magma will turn into metamorphic rock when the lava comes out of the underground then cools down, next it will turn into igneous rock. After that the igneous rock will turn into sediments after weathering. Then sediments will be compacted and become a sedimentary rock. Then in pressure, the sedimentary rock will be transformed into metamorphic rock.

Carbon Cycle
  1. The consumer will become a fossil fuel in carbon cycle. This will happen when the consumers get decomposed by decomposers and after millions of years later the remains of this consumer will become fossil fuel or fossil.
  2. The fossil fuel can be used in the process of photosynthesis when the factories use them and make CO2 emissions into the air. This will be used in photosynthesis because when producers take in CO2,  water and sunlight in order to make their own food and oxygen during photosynthesis.

Water Cycle
  1. The lake water will turn into the clouds when the lake gets heaten by the sunlight and gets evaporated then the water vapor will happen. The condensation will happen when the water vapor becomes together and makes clouds.
  2. The cloud will turn into a ground water during the water cycle. This will happen. When the clouds starts to drop water which can be called precipitation then there is runoff where the water goes down from mountains. After that there is infiltration which the water goes underground and this can be called underground water.

PART II
ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
Long Answer:

How are the rock, carbon, and water cycles connected to the hydrosphere, lithosphere, atmosphere and biosphere?

Rock Cycle
  1. The rock cycle is connected to the hydrosphere because during the weathering the rocks will be broken into sediments because the weathering contains precipitation and other erosion that rock gets contacted with water.
  2. The rock cycle is connected to the lithosphere because the fossils and rocks are contained underground.
  3. The rock cycle is connected to the atmosphere because when the erosion happens such as wind cause a pressure the rock into sediments. And there also can be weathering which is part of the atmosphere.
  4. The rock cycle is connected to the biosphere because when the consumers or any other living thing dies they will become decomposed and after millions of years later they will turn into type of rock which can be considered as a fossil.

Water Cycle
  1. The water cycle is connected to the hydrosphere because they are both have liquid in their all parts of their processes. And they are both are the same cycles or creation of the water in our ecosystem.
  2. The water cycle is connected to the lithosphere because when  precipitation happens then there is runoff where the water goes down from mountains. After that there is infiltration which the water goes underground and this can be called underground water.
  3. The water cycle is connected to the atmosphere because when the lakes get heated by sunlight, the water will be evaporated into the atmosphere.
  4. The water cycle is connected to the biosphere because when the infiltration happens, the water adds to the ground water which plants and trees will take In that water from underground by using their roots, to stay alive. In addition the transpiration happens while water goes into the from producers.

Carbon Cycle
  1. The carbon cycle is connected to the hydrosphere because producers use carbon dioxide,  water and sunlight in order to make their own food and oxygen during the process of photosynthesis.
  2. The carbon cycle is connected to the lithosphere because when animals got decomposed, there will be process called Consumption which factories get the fossil fuels from underground and burn the fossil fuel,  next carbon dioxide will be released into the air.
  3. The carbon cycle is connected to the atmosphere because when consumers breath, the process called respiration which consumers take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
  4. The carbon cycle is connected to the biosphere because after the consumers release the carbon into the air, the producers will take in carbon dioxide, water and sunlight in order to make their own food and oxygen during photosynthesis.

Short Answer:
How are three cycles (rock, carbon, and water) connected to each other?

The Rock Cycle is connected to the Carbon Cycle because when the organism gets decomposed by decomposers, it will turn into fossil fuel. This fossils are  part of the rock cycle. On the other hand the factories burn fossil fuels in pressed called Consumption which part of the carbon cycle. In process of consumption the carbon dioxide will be released into the atmosphere.

The Carbon Cycle also works with the Water Cycle because producers will take in carbon dioxide, water and sunlight in order to produce their own food and oxygen. This process is called photosynthesis

The Water Cycle is connected to the Rock Cycle because when the metamorphic rock or the igneous rock faces the weathering or erosion, it will cause the rock to break into small pieces which is called sediments. This two cycles are connected to each other because weathering or erosion can be natural movement of water
and breaking the rock into smaller pieces.

Carbon Cycle

In our ecosystem there are many different types of cycles that have its own processes, which will keep our planet balanced. For example the Carbon Cycle is one of the important cycles that plays big role in our life. Carbon cycle is recycle of the oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Carbon Cycle is also involved with other cycles such as water cycle and rock cycle and many more. This cycle has different parts or steps to complete this cycle.
For example, first step is when consumers take in oxygen and releases carbon dioxide into the air and this process is called respiration. Consumer is an animal or can be called living organism. The second process is called Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is after the carbon is on the air, the producers will take in carbon dioxide, water and sunlight in order to make oxygen and glucose.
The third process is called Decomposition. This when animals die, which means decomposers, decompose them. This is when animals die and their remaining’s will be burred under the ground. After they will be decomposed, after millions of years they will turn into a fossils or fossil fuels. There is next step called Consumption, its when the people dig the ground and get fossils or fossil fuels to use them on their factories and make energy from them.
